Self-Service Options

Choose an option to find Disability Insurance (DI) or Paid Family Leave (PFL) information, services, and resources.

Use myEDD to access SDI Online to apply for DI or PFL benefits. SDI Online is a convenient and secure way to:

  • Apply for benefits and submit claim documents.
  • Get immediate confirmation of forms you submitted.
  • View status and payment history for DI and PFL claims.
  • Get online access 24 hours a day.

To use SDI Online, you must first create a myEDD account for access. Follow these steps to get started:

  1. Visit myEDD.
  2. Select Create Account and follow the instructions to set up your account.
  3. Then log back into myEDD and select SDI Online to access SDI Online registration options.
  4. Once you have registered in both myEDD and SDI Online, log in to myEDD and select SDI Online to file your claim.

SDI Online is the fastest way to get information about your DI claim. Check your claim status, submit forms, or ask questions by following these steps:

Check Claim Status

  1. Login to myEDD.
  2. Select SDI Online.
  3. On your homepage, select the Claim ID of your current claim.
  4. Under Current Claim Status, select the Claim Activity link for information.

Ask a question:

  1. Log in to myEDD.
  2. Select SDI Online.
  3. On your homepage, select the Claim ID of your current claim.
  4. Select Request Claim Update in the Claim Information section.
  5. Choose a Request Type from the dropdown menu and select Next.
  6. Add your specific question to your claim.

Note: All questions and direct responses are confidential.

SDI Online is the fastest way to get information about your Paid Family Leave claim. Check your claim status or submit forms by following these steps:

Check Claim Status

  1. Log in to myEDD.
  2. Select SDI Online.
  3. On your homepage, select the Claim ID of your current claim.
  4. Under Current Claim Status, select the Claim Activity link for information.

Ask a question:

If you have a question about your PFL claim, use Ask EDD to send a secure message.

Follow these steps:

  1. Visit Ask EDD.
  2. Select the category Paid Family Leave.
  3. Select the sub-category Miscellaneous Inquiry.
  4. Select the topic Other (Questions).

Include as much information as possible on the electronic forms. We keep all your information private.

Use Ask EDD to submit a question, report fraud, or get technical support with your online account.

Follow these steps:

  1. Visit Ask EDD.
  2. Select the category Disability Insurance or Paid Family Leave.
  3. Select the sub-category for the topic you need.
