Representatives are available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., except on state holidays.

For faster service, have your Claim ID and weekly benefit amount ready. Your Claim ID and weekly benefit information is located on the SDI Online homepage of your myEDD account or on your Notice of Computation that was mailed to you.

If you don’t have a Claim ID, you can wait to talk to an available representative.

After a brief message, you can continue the call in English or press 2 for Spanish.

If you know what option to select, you may enter or say it at any time.

Or you can select the following:   

  • Say "Representative” or press 0 to speak with a representative
  • Say “Previous Menu” or press 9 to return to a previous menu.
  • Say “Repeat” or press the star key (*) to repeat information.

Say “Payments” or press 1:

 If you're eligible, it can take up to three weeks to receive your first benefit payment.

  • For status of your benefit payment, say “status” or press 1.
  • To request a copy of your payment history, say “copy of payment” or press 2.

Say “Online” or press 2:

  • Creating an online account, say “online account” or press 1.
  • Submitting an online application, say “online application” or press 2
  • Resetting your password, say “reset” password or press 3.
  • Receiving technical support, say “technical support” or press 4.

Say “Disability” or press 3:

  • Eligibility and payments, say “eligibility” or press 1.
  • Applying for benefits, say “apply” or press 2.
    • To request an application by mail, say “paper application” or press 1.
  • Filing an appeal, say “appeal” or press 3.
  • The FMLA and the California Family Rights Act, say “FMLA” or press 4.

Say “voluntary plans” or press 4:

  • Employer Voluntary Plans, say “Employer Voluntary Plans” or press 1.
  • Employee Voluntary Plans, say “Employee Voluntary Plans” or press 2.
    (If you have a voluntary plan, your pay stub or W-2 will have “VDI” contributions instead of “CA-SDI” contributions.)

Say “elective coverage” or press 5:

  • Elective Coverage, say “elective coverage” or press 1.
