The Employment Development Department (EDD) in collaboration with the Labor and Workforce Development Agency, the Governor’s Office of Planning and Research (OPR), and the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz) is pleased to announce the award of $55 million of California’s State General Funds for the Community Economic Resilience Fund Program (CERF) Planning Phase 1 Program Year (PY) 2022-24. These funds will support innovative plans and strategies to diversify local economies and develop sustainable industries that create family-sustaining, broadly-accessible jobs for all Californians.

As part of CERF’s initial planning phase, 13 economic development entities known as High Road Transition Collaboratives will receive $5 million each to develop roadmaps, including a strategy and recommended series of investments, for their region. Today’s announcement includes 11 of the 13 awardees. The two remaining awards, representing High Road Transition Collaboratives from the Inland Empire and Southern Border, will be announced soon.

The EDD expects that the performance period will be between 18-24 months. A list of the awardees and descriptions of their projects is available on the EDD Workforce Development Solicitations for Proposals webpage.
