At the EDD, we offer valuable no-cost programs, resources, and services to help you reopen your business and hire employees.
Participate in the Work Sharing Program
The Work Sharing Program provides a temporary alternative to layoffs if your business’s production or services have been reduced. With Work Sharing, employees whose hours and wages have been reduced can receive unemployment benefits while keeping their job. This can help you avoid the costs of hiring and training as business conditions improve.
If you furloughed or laid off workers during the pandemic, Work Sharing can help you bring back employees at reduced hours. These employees can continue collecting the additional $300 a week in federal unemployment benefits, as well as have a portion of their wages subsidized by their regular unemployment benefits. The federal government is covering 100% of the costs of Work Sharing benefits.
We’ve automated the Work Sharing application and weekly certification process. It’s now faster and easier to take advantage of this valuable program.

America’s Job Center of CaliforniaSM (AJCC) gives you access to California’s employment services. AJCC staff can help you meet your workforce needs by offering:
- Focused recruitment campaigns for your business.
- Facilities and scheduling services to screen and interview applicants.
- Resume searches to match your job openings.
- Assistance with job fairs (virtual or in person).
- Resources to meet your training needs, including on-the-job reimbursement assistance and other subsidies.
- Seminars on topics like labor market conditions, labor law, personnel issues, payroll tax, Unemployment Insurance, Disability Insurance, and more.
