myEDD

In June, myEDD will be replacing Benefit Programs Online. myEDD is a simple and more secure way to access our benefit services.

With myEDD, we have increased security to your account by adding two login verification methods.

Your Benefit Programs Online account will automatically be transferred to myEDD. When logging into myEDD for the first time, use your existing Benefit Programs Online email and password.

  1. Log in to your myEDD account.
  2. Select a security question and enter your answer.
  3. Select your login verification method.
  4. Enter your verification code.
  5. Select myEDD Home.

General Information

Benefit Programs Online (BPO) is a secure web portal you can use to access SDI Online, UI OnlineSM, and Benefit Overpayment Services.

Anyone with a personal email address can create a Benefit Programs Online account. New accounts go through a secondary registration process to use UI Online, SDI Online, and Benefit Overpayment Services.

Note for UI Online Customers: You must have an Unemployment Insurance (UI) claim and your EDD Customer Account Number to register for a UI Online account. Visit UI Online for more information.

Registration

To register for Benefit Programs Online, you need to:

  • Provide a personal, non-shared email address.
  • Provide a password.
  • Select a personal image.
  • Provide a personal caption.
  • Select and answer four security questions.

Note: There are more requirements in the secondary registration for  UI Online, SDI Online, and Benefit Overpayment Services.

Yes. Benefit Programs Online is mobile friendly.

Password Recovery and Account Security

If you forgot your password:

  1. Visit Benefit Programs Online.
  2. Select Log In Or Register.
  3. Enter your email, then select Log In.
  4. Select Forgot Password.

If you cannot remember the answers to your security questions, contact us.

Yes, all of your Benefit Programs Online updates can be completed using a mobile device. Make sure you have access to your email to reset your password.

To update your Benefit Programs Online account:

  1. Log in to Benefit Programs Online.
  2. Select My Profile.
  3. Select the item you want to update.

Additional contact information including your mailing address and phone number can only be updated in SDI Online or UI Online.

If you do not recognize your personal image and caption, do not enter your password.

Before you contact us, be sure you have:

  1. Completed the registration process. Select your unique link in the Benefit Programs Online - Registration email if you are new to Benefit Programs Online.
  2. Entered your email accurately. Enter your email in Benefit Programs Online again. Select Log In, then review your personal image and caption once more.

Contact us immediately if you have completed registration and entered the correct email, but the wrong personal image and caption are displayed.

We have safety measures to find and stop fraud including:

  • Encrypted data.
  • Security images.
  • Notifications when your account is updated.

Benefit Programs Online will lock you out if you incorrectly enter your password or answer your security questions too many times. Try to log in again later.

Contact Information and Personal Preferences

To update your Benefit Programs Online email:

  1. Log in to Benefit Programs Online.
  2. Select My Profile.
  3. Select Update Email.

Your mailing address and phone number can only be updated in SDI Online and UI Online.

UI Online:

  • Log in to Benefit Programs Online.
  • Select UI Online.
  • Select Profile from the UI Online main menu.
  • Select Contact Information to update your information.

SDI Online:

  • Log in to Benefit Programs Online.
  • Select SDI Online.
  • Select Profile on the SDI Online main menu.
  • Select the contact information you want to update.

Benefit Overpayment Services:

  • Call 1-800-676-5737 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Pacific time, Monday through Friday, except on state holidays.

Customer Support and Online Help

Unemployment Insurance: Call 1-800-300-5616 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Pacific time, Monday through Friday, except on state holidays.

Note: Our busiest time is Monday mornings, but if you call after 10 a.m. or later in the week you should be able to reach a representative fairly quickly.

Disability Insurance: Call 1-800-480-3287 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Pacific time, Monday through Friday, except on state holidays.

Paid Family Leave: Calling 1-877-238-4373 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Pacific time, Monday through Friday, except on state holidays.

Call 1-800-676-5737 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Pacific time, Monday through Friday, except on state holidays.

Error Messages and Technical Issues

If you have reviewed the FAQs on this page and cannot find the answer for your Benefit Programs Online technical issue, contact us to speak to a representative:

If you received an error message while trying to log in, register, update your profile, log out, or reset your password:

  1. Visit Benefit Programs Online to find out if the system is unavailable due to scheduled maintenance or is currently experiencing technical issues.
  2. Close all browsers, wait a few minutes, then open a new browser window.
  3. Go to Benefit Programs Online and start the process again.
  4. Confirm that all the information you entered is correct.

If you continue to receive the error message, note the error code (if one was provided) and contact us .

To protect the security of your account, Benefit Programs Online sessions will expire after 30 minutes of inactivity on any page. To continue, return to Benefit Programs Online and start over.
