We are here to help you learn more about State Disability Insurance (SDI), which includes:
- Disability Insurance (DI)
- Paid Family Leave (PFL)
To learn more about DI and PFL, sign up for a webinar. You can also ask us to attend an event you are hosting to give a presentation or provide a Q and A session, or both.
Note: Outreach staff don’t have access to claim information. We can’t give updates on claim status or payment history.
Attend a Webinar
We offer free online webinars so you can ask questions in real-time. We focus each webinar to fit the needs of the group attending, and they are open to the public.
SDI is currently updating many of our services to better serve our customers. As part of these updates, we are revising all of our webinars and introducing a new webinar registration system. Please continue to check back for updates.
How to Sign Up?
To attend an available scheduled webinar, email the Outreach Development Group.
Important: This email is only for event requests and outreach information. We cannot access the claim filing system to answer personal or specific questions about your claim details.
Include this information in your email:
- The name of your company or organization.
- Contact person.
- Contact phone number.
- Best time to contact you.
- Type of presentation (claimant, employer, physician/practitioner, or military assist).
- Preferred date and time for a presentation.
- Estimated number of attendees.
- Any specific information or questions your group wants to discuss.
Can’t Attend a Webinar?
If you can’t attend during normal business hours, we have self-help options you can use anytime.

The focus of this webinar is the physician and practitioner’s part of our SDI process. It outlines:
- High-level DI and PFL program information.
- Your online registration process.
- Adding representatives to your online account.
- Your medical certification process for DI patients and PFL care claim recipients.
This webinar provides an overview of how the SDI program works for a Military Assist (MA) claim. MA is for workers who need time off work to support a family member in the US Armed Forces who is deploying to a foreign country. We explain the basics of DI and PFL but focus on MA including:

- Deployments and qualifying events
- Claim filing process
- Supporting documents needed
