Career Support That Honors Veteran Service
This Veterans Day, we honor the brave individuals who have served in the US military, our veterans! We recognize that the transition from military to civilian life isn’t always easy. That’s why at EDD, we’re committed to helping veterans and their spouses find meaningful work, access training, and connect with supportive services across California.
Veterans Bring Valuable Skills to California’s Workforce
Today, around 1.3 million veterans live in California, and over 534,000 are part of the state’s civilian workforce. Veterans bring more than just experience to the table. They bring leadership, discipline, and a strong work ethic that employers across all industries value deeply. From management and healthcare to skilled trades and tech, veterans are building careers and contributing to the state’s economy in powerful ways.
"Veterans have given so much in service to our country. We are proud to support them as they transition to a civilian career," said Director Nancy Farias. "Veterans' specialized skills and abilities are a true benefit to California’s economy."
