Workforce Services Information Notice
WSIN24-41

Issued: May 9, 2025

The Employment Development Department (EDD), on behalf of the Labor and Workforce Development Agency, is pleased to announce the award of $978,735.71 in Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act 15% Governor’s discretionary funds for the Employment Social Enterprise (ESE) Technical Assistance (TA) grant for Program Year 2024-25 (PY 24-25) Solicitation for Proposals to one organization.

The ESE TA PY 24-25 funding aims to increase equity and improve outcomes for underserved populations facing significant barriers to employment by providing necessary guidance and support to ESE PY 24-25 program awardees in their pursuit of successful ESE programs and participant outcomes. The selected ESE TA organization will coordinate efforts throughout the state, across agencies and departments, to increase access to and retention of the transitional employment component of the Social Enterprise (SE) model – supporting recruitment, wrap-around services, case management, and job placement for project participants.

With this funding, the awarded organization will increase equity and improve outcomes for underserved populations facing significant barriers to employment by helping program awardees overcome existing barriers, improve equitable employment outcomes for the program’s target populations, and provide feedback as a developmental tool for quality improvement, innovation, and sustainability.

The EDD expects the performance period to be between 18 and 24 months. The awardee and a description of the project are available on the EDD Workforce Development Solicitations for Proposals webpage.
