Workforce Services Information Notice
WSIN24-28
Issued: December 30, 2024
The Department of Rehabilitation invites California students with disabilities who are high school sophomores, juniors, or seniors during the 2024-2025 school year, ending in June 2025, to attend the six-day 2025 Youth Leadership Forum (YLF) residential program. The 2025 YLF program will be held in-person at California State University, Sacramento scheduled for July 14–19, 2025.
The YLF program provides students with resources to choose and reach their education, employment, and independent living goals. Students will learn leadership and advocacy skill from alumni and professionals with disabilities. There is no cost for delegates who are selected to attend.
Additional optional post-YLF sessions will be held virtually and in-person in the months after the event. These workshops will focus on topics such as transitioning after high school, money management, post-secondary education, work experience, career development, and self-advocacy.
Please note, YLF planning partners continue to track health trends and safety guidance within California. All participants may be expected to provide proof of vaccination against COVID-19, and to test negatively for COVID-19 in the 24 hours before arriving in Sacramento.
Visit the 2025 Delegate Application to apply. Applications are due by February 28, 2025. To view more information about the YLF, please visit the YLF – Delegate Information webpage.
If you have any questions, please contact the YFL Project Manager at ylf@dor.ca.gov or call 1-855-894-3436.
