The Economic Development Administration (EDA) is pleased to announce the availability of approximately $25 million in funding for the FY24 Good Jobs Challenge under EDA’s Economic Adjustment Assistance program, as authorized by the Public Works and Economic Development Act of 1965 (PWEDA), as amended (42 U.S.C. § 3121 et seq.). The EDA anticipates awarding approximately 5-8 grantees with awards ranging from $1 million to $8 million.
Purpose of the Grant
The FY24 Good Jobs Challenge aims to support regional workforce training systems by designing and implementing activities for established sectoral partnerships that place program participants into good jobs. This program seeks to help grow regional economies, address emerging skills needs of employers, and advance technology-based industries that contribute to U.S. economic and national security.
Eligibility
Eligible applicants include the following:
- District Organization of an EDA-designated Economic Development District (EDD)
- Indian Tribe or a consortium of Indian Tribes
- State, county, city, or other political subdivision of a state
- Special purpose unit of a State or local government engaged in economic or infrastructure development activities
- Institution of higher education or a consortium of institutions of higher education
- Public or private non-profit organization or association, including labor unions, acting in cooperation with officials of a general-purpose political subdivision of a state
Note – Individuals and for-profit entities are not eligible for funding under this NOFO.
