Issued: March 18, 2025

The Employment Development Department (EDD), in coordination with the California Labor and Workforce Development Agency (LWDA), is pleased to announce the award of $1 million from the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Governor’s Discretionary Fund for the Farmworkers Advancement Program (FAP) Technical Assistance (TA) and Developmental Evaluation (DE) for Program Year 2024-25 (PY 24-25) to Jobs for the Future (JFF). JFF will be responsible for providing TA and DE to FAP PY 24-25 program awardees with the continued development and refinement of projects that focus exclusively on farmworker needs by offering essential skills and upskilling training to either advance in the agricultural industry and/or prepare for advancement outside of the agricultural sector.

The FAP TA DE PY 24-25 grant aims to enhance the effectiveness and sustainability of FAP projects. JFF will address the needs of farmworkers by providing ongoing coaching and consultation, offering targeted technical assistance, and building a collaborative community of practice for ongoing learning and continuous improvement. JFF will be responsible for creating and documenting a robust framework that not only supports the transition of farmworkers into new roles but also serves as a blueprint for similar work in the future.

The EDD expects the performance period to be between 18 and 24 months. Information about the awardee and descriptions of their project is available on the EDD Workforce Development Solicitation for Proposals webpage.
