The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), Veterans’ Employment and Training Service (VETS) announced the availability of $23 million in grant funding to support organizations working to provide training and employment services to homeless veterans and those at risk of homelessness.
Purpose of the Grant
The Homeless Veterans’ Reintegration Program (HVRP) aims to reduce and prevent veterans’ homelessness by assisting them in overcoming barriers to employment and successfully reentering the workforce in high-quality careers.
HVRP grant recipients will deliver workplace skills training, support participation in Registered Apprenticeship programs or other on-the-job training, and provide employment placement assistance.
Eligibility
Eligible applicants include the following:
- State governments
- County governments
- City or township governments
- Special district governments
- Public and State-controlled institutions of higher education
- Native American tribal governments (federally recognized)
- Public housing authorities/Indian housing authorities
- Native American tribal organizations (other than federally recognized tribal governments)
- Nonprofits having a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education
- Nonprofits without 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education
- Private institutions of higher education
- For-profit organizations other than small businesses
- Small businesses
- U.S. Territories or Possessions
- Native American Tribally Designated Organizations
- State and Local Workforce Development Boards (SWDB/LWDB) established under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA)
- Faith-based organizations
- Other State and Local Government Agencies
Funding Details
DOL expects to award grant funding to approximately 61 organizations. Individual grants will range from $150,000 – $500,000 annually, for a total of up to $1.5 million over a three-year period of performance.
Application Deadline
Applications will be accepted until March 6, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time.
