Issued: June 2, 2025
The Employment Development Department (EDD), on behalf of the Labor and Workforce Development Agency, is delighted to announce the award of $9,999,199.53 in Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Title I Governor’s discretionary funds for the Employment Social Enterprise (ESE) grant for Program Year 2024-25 (PY 24-25) Solicitation for Proposals.
The ESE program focuses on the first step to transitioning participants into the workforce by placing individuals into supported employment settings, where they can earn wages, gain work experience, improve job skills, and access supportive services.
The six ESE PY 24-25 awardees will support the design, development, and implementation of programs aimed at promoting job training opportunities and transitional employment through social enterprise initiatives. These programs will serve California’s most vulnerable populations, helping them achieve economic self-sufficiency and life stability.
The EDD expects that the performance period will be between 18-24 months. A list of the awardees and descriptions of their projects is available on the EDD Workforce Development Solicitations for Proposals webpage.
If you have any questions regarding the ESE grant solicitation, please email WSBSFP3@edd.ca.gov.
