The Employment and Training Administration and the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) announce the availability of approximately $1,500,000 to support the first year of the Next Level Now Technical Assistance Collaborative. Through a cooperative agreement with DOL, the Technical Assistance Collaborative will provide strategic, short- and long-term technical assistance to help public workforce system entities at the state and local levels improve service quality and outcomes for job seekers and employers who use the public workforce system.

Purpose of the Grant

The purpose of the Next Level Now Technical Assistance Collaborative is to establish a comprehensive, coordinated approach to improving public workforce system services and outcomes. This Technical Assistance Collaborative is not a physical center but a hub or focal point for collaboration. Jointly led by Employment and Training Administration’s Steering Committee and the selected applicant(s), this initiative will:

  • Assess technical assistance needs.
    Develop and deliver technical assistance events and materials to share information on evidence-based practices.
  • Create technical assistance tools and resources.
  • Providing subject matter expertise throughout the public workforce system.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments to the effectiveness of the technical assistance provided.

Eligibility

Eligible applicants include:

  • Nonprofits having a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education.
  • Public and state-controlled institutions of higher education.
  • State governments.
  • Private institutions of higher education.
  • For-profit organizations other than small businesses.
  • Nonprofits that do not have a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education.

Funding Details

The Employment and Training Administration (ETA) will make funding available for the Technical Assistance Collaborative through a cooperative agreement(s). Under this FOA, the ETA expects to award one or more cooperative agreements. Applicants may apply for no more than $1.5 million, which will support their project’s first year of operation. ETA anticipates each awardee will also receive annual increments of approximately $1 million in the subsequent three years of the period of performance, for an approximate total of $4.5 million.

The closing date for receipt of applications is February 4, 2025, by 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time.
