Step 6: Manage Benefits
You must contact us right away if:
- You return to part-time or full-time work.
- You receive any wages. Report any work and wages—even if you were not paid yet.
Working part-time or reduced hours means you work fewer hours or days than usual, leading to a loss of wages.
- If you report working part-time while receiving DI benefits, we will send you the Continued Claim Certification for Paid Disability Benefits (DE 2580G).
- You must complete this form to confirm the time you worked.
- Your benefits may be adjusted based on hours worked.
- Your benefits will stop if you don’t submit the form online or return it by mail.
You are eligible to receive benefits until the expected recovery date provided by your physician/practitioner. If you have not fully recovered, and you haven't exhausted your available DI benefits, you may be able to update your claim. To access additional benefits:
- Your physician/practitioner must fill out the Physician/Practitioner’s Supplementary Certificate (DE 2525XX) form mailed to you with your final payment.
- Your doctor can submit the form online through myEDD (if they are registered), or send it by mail.
- The form must be returned to us within 20 days of the date on the form.
