Issued: May 14, 2026
The Employment Development Department (EDD), in coordination with the California Labor and Workforce Development Agency (LWDA), is delighted to announce the award of $9,750,000.00 in Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Title I Governor’s discretionary funds for the Regional Coordination Project (RCP) PY 25-26 Solicitation for Proposals.
The goal of this grant program is to strengthen collaboration between local workforce boards and community colleges and adult schools through regional partnerships for equitable access to high-quality jobs and long-term systems change.
The ten RCP PY 25-26 awardees will support the creation, expansion, or adaptation of industry-recognized certificate programs, including stackable credentials, apprenticeship programs, and credit-bearing short-term certificates that demonstrate strong labor market outcomes. The goal of RCP PY 25-26 is to ensure long-term viability and alignment with workforce development priorities and the California Master Plan for Career Education (CMPCE), fostering a more integrated and robust workforce and education system. Projects will also provide wrap-around support and resources to build skills to prevent job loss and lay the foundation for upward mobility.
The EDD expects that the performance period will be between 18-24 months. A list of the awardees and descriptions of their projects is available on the EDD Workforce Development Solicitations for Proposals webpage.
If you have any questions regarding the RCP grant solicitation, please email WSBSFP1@edd.ca.gov.
