The support you need, when you need it most.

When you turn to us, we have a program or resource that can help. Unemployment benefits are here to help support you and your family while you find a new job and develop your career.

Use myEDD—the fastest and most convenient way to apply for unemployment and manage your claim.

You will need a myEDD account to apply for unemployment benefits. If you already have a myEDD account, use your previous email and password to log in.


Important: After you create your myEDD account, you will receive an email to confirm your account. Select the link provided to complete your registration. The link will expire within 48 hours.

If you don’t get this message in your inbox, check your Spam or Junk Mail folder.

Once you have created your myEDD account and logged in, go to UI Online to apply for benefits.

Note: To apply for benefits online, you must be at least 18 years old. If you are underage, you can apply by phonefax, or mail.

Log in to myEDD and select UI Online to start the registration. You may have been automatically registered for UI Online. If not, you’ll need to provide your:

  • First and last name as it appears on your claim.
  • Date of birth.
  • Social Security number.
  • EDD Customer Account Number.

Important: We automatically mail an EDD Customer Account Number to new customers within 10 days of filing a claim. If you have lost your EDD Customer Account Number, call us at 1-800-300-5616 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Pacific time), Monday through Friday, except on state holidays.

Once your UI Online registration is complete, you can:

  • Apply for benefits.
  • Reopen your claim.
  • Certify for benefits.
  • Report work and wages.
  • Update your payment preference.
  • Update your address and phone number.
  • View in-person and phone appointments.
  • Ask questions.
  • Monitor your online inbox.
  • View tax information (Form 1099G) for the last five years.

After you log in to UI Online, you can get help by selecting the question mark (?) icon or the Help link in the upper-right part of the screen.

If you need help with account setup or login issues, call 1-833-978-2511 and select option 1 after the introductory messaging. The phone line is available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Pacific time), Monday through Friday, except on state holidays.

Note: Monday morning before 10 a.m. is our busiest call time, so we recommend calling at other times.

Protect Your Account

Never share confidential information such as your password or Social Security number with anyone. If your account has been compromised, contact us.

Browser Compatibility and Pop-up Blockers

For the best experience, use the latest versions of Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, or Internet Explorer. Additionally, you must disable pop-up blockers to access features of UI Online.
