Job seekers, staff, and employers will observe various aesthetic updates as well as new features designed to make CalJOBS more efficient and user-friendly.

Changes for All Users

The following changes apply to all users:

  • Program Finder for Simplified Education and Training Searches: The new feature lets users perform a single occupation-based search making it easier to find education and training opportunities.
  • Updated Labor Market Information (LMI) Profile Experience: The LMI Profile Summary pages have been updated with a customizable two-column layout. This improvement helps users organize information and navigate the pages more easily enabling them to quickly locate and review the details they need.

Changes for Individuals

The following changes apply to individuals:

  • New Help Center Experience for Job Seekers: The system update offers a new Help Center for individual users. Individuals can access the Help Center via the site header or by selecting page-level help icons. This replaces previous modal pop-ups and PDF guides, streamlining the help experience.
  • More Focused Experience for My Dashboard: The My Dashboard revision allows to focus on specific tasks, such as job searches or training activities. This enhancement helps users access relevant tools more easily and minimizes unnecessary navigation. A Focus Library offers additional views for users to choose from.
  • Dashboard Assistant – ‘Not Sure Where to Start Questionnaire’: The dashboard feature enables quicker navigation through the ‘Not Sure Where to Start Questionnaire’. Users can save suggestions, retake the questionnaire for updated recommendations, and reference suggestions at any time.
  • New Modernized Resume Designs: The redesign allows users to choose from three new resume styles: Classic, Contemporary, and Executive.
  • New Job-search Related Tabs: The new Jobs icon allows job seekers to quickly access essential job search activities from anywhere in the system. The Jobs panel displays recently viewed positions and offers direct links to Job Contacts, Saved Jobs, and Virtual Recruiter within the Individual Portfolio. Job seekers can quickly navigate back to the Job Details page by selecting a job title or the date it was viewed.
  • Split View Job Search Results: The Job Search Results page shows job listings on the left and previews job summaries on the right. Filter buttons are available at the top for easier sorting and organization of results.
  • Improved Virtual Recruiter Job Search Alerts: Virtual Recruiter updates are found on the Job Search Results page using occupation-based visuals and prompts tailored to users’ search activity. Preconfigured alerts are recommended based on activity. Users have the option to approve, reject, or stop seeing these messages:
    • Desired occupation
    • Location
    • Recent search history

Changes for Employer

The following changes apply to employers:

  • SmartMatch Talent Search: The new feature visually identifies candidates who are best suited for an employer’s job order. Employers can select criteria such as education, occupation, or salary, and flag each as Optional, Desired, or Required. Visual charts display matching candidates, with stronger matches appearing closer to the center.
  • Registered Apprenticeship Opportunities: Job orders update includes Registered Apprenticeship as a new job type.
  • Manage Interviews Directly in Job Applications Tab: This enhancement allows employers to manage interviews directly for applicants from the Job Applications Tab. This feature allows employers to review applicants, organize candidates, and manage interview questions directly within the system.

Changes for Staff

The following changes apply to staff:

  • Upgraded Business Intelligence Data Analytics Experience: The Business Intelligence Data Analytics tool has a redesigned interface, helping staff navigate analytics more efficiently. Updates combine My Favorites, My Visualizations, and My Dashboards into one page. Visualizations are available in a Showcase Gallery with full-screen viewing.
  • Showcase New Key Data Analytics Directly on Staff Dashboard: The enhanced Showcase Gallery presents pinned visualizations of important Business Intelligence Data Analytics in an interactive carousel, making key insights readily accessible and easy to share.
  • Agency Defined Programs (ADP) Now Utilizes Reusable Program Blocks: Staff can use reusable program blocks when creating ADP, similar to the Title I – WIOA application. These blocks support structured data collection, making it easier to generate reports, track progress, support compliance, and analyze outcomes for grant programs.
  • Expanded Reason Options added to WARN Visit Tracking: WARN visit entries now include two new Reason for Visit options: Employer Meeting and Employee Information Session. An option is also available to specify Department of Labor Staff Attended.
  • Customize Quick Assist Search Results: Staff can set their preferred Quick Assist Search Results default on their My Staff Account page. Options include the following:
    • All Users – Current Setting (default)
    • All Active Program Participants – Only individuals with active program applications
    • Applicants Only – Only applicant individuals (active and inactive)
  • Create Rapid Response Events Directly from Left Navigation Menu: Staff with appropriate privileges can create Rapid Response Events directly from the left Navigation Menu. Event Name and TAA Petition fields are added to the Rapid Response Event Search page.
  • Improved Hyperlink Access within Reports: Report links have been updated from JavaScript hyperlinks to standard HTML hyperlinks allowing staff to open and view multiple links in separate browser tabs.
  • Updated Dashboards for Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Module: The Campaign Details and Contact Details pages within the CRM module have updated dashboards that enhance visuals and navigation. Staff can access the Contact Details page by selecting View Link on a campaign member.
