Voluntary Quit/Trade Dispute, Leaving at Beginning of Dispute
- Refer to Trade Dispute Notice or request guidance from Area Trade Dispute Specialist, on whether or not members of the union directly involved are considered to have left due to a trade dispute or due to a voluntary leaving, under Section 1256.
- Does the claimant belong to the union directly involved?
- If members of the union directly involved are considered to have left work under Section 1256, confirm why the claimant left. Refer to Trade. Dispute Notice or request guidance from Area Trade Dispute Specialist on whether or not the members are considered to have left due to onerous working conditions.
Leaving Due to Respecting Informational Picket Line
- Refer to Trade Dispute Notice or request guidance from Area Trade Dispute Specialist on whether there was a trade dispute at the job site involved.
- Why did the claimant refuse to report to work?
No Union Dispute/Voluntary Quit
- Did the claimant abandon his/her demands at the time of leaving or soon thereafter?
- Why did the claimant quit work?
Suspensions
- Refer to Fact-Finding guide in VQ 285 (FF).
- If the claimant was scheduled to return to work during the trade dispute, did the claimant return to work as scheduled?
- If the claimant did not return, why not?
