Federal Lower Living Standard Income Level and Poverty Guidelines

Updated: August 20, 2024

The federal Lower Living Standard Income Level (LLSIL) and Poverty Guidelines are used by Local Workforce Development Areas (Local Area) to help determine low-income status and self-sufficiency criteria as mandated by Title I of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act.

The following tables represent the current LLSIL and Poverty Guidelines provide by the US Department of Labor (DOL) and the US Health and Human Services (HHS) for the state of California. The information is updated annually when new data is made available by the DOL  and HHS.

For more information on how to use these guidelines, refer to Workforce Services Directive LLSIL and Poverty Guidelines (WSD24-02).
