The California Workforce Development Board (CWDB) is soliciting public comments from Local Workforce Development Boards and other interested parties regarding the following proposed waivers of Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) statutory requirements:
- Waiver allowing up to 30 percent of funds to be spent on transitional jobs for participants.
- Waiver allowing a reimbursement of up to 90 percent of on-the-job training costs for businesses with 50 or fewer employees.
- Waiver allowing supportive services to be included amongst the list of follow up services that can be provided to adult and dislocated worker participants for up to 12 months after they are placed in unsubsidized employment.
- Waiver allowing funds be utilized for business capitalization.
These waiver request were developed in accordance with WIOA Section 189(i)(3)(B) and the Code of Federal Regulations Section 679.620 and may be viewed as an attachment.
The CWDB will consider all public comments on the waivers received by July 12, 2020. Submit comments via email to Marissa.Clark@cwdb.ca.gov. Please include “Waiver Request Comments” in the email subject line.
