The Employment Development Department (EDD), in coordination with the California Labor and Workforce Development Agency (LWDA), announces the availability of up to $8 million from the State of California General Fund for the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Intermediary Program Year 2022-23 (PY 22-23) Solicitation for Proposal (SFP).
The goal of this SFP and the forthcoming Targeted EMS Corps program SFP is to create innovative and accessible opportunities to recruit, train, hire, and advance an ethnically and culturally inclusive health and human services workforce, with improved diversity and higher wages. The EMS Intermediary will be responsible for identifying potential service areas, project partners, and to assist in the development, implementation, and facilitation of Targeted EMS Corps program sites.
Eligible applicants are public and private non-profit organizations, Local Workforce Development Areas, education and training providers, tribal organizations, faith-based organizations, and community-based organizations. Individuals are not eligible to apply.
Proposals must be received by 3 p.m. on Tuesday, January 17, 2023. An informational webinar will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at 10 a.m. Pre-registration is required for all participants. The EDD encourages applicants to submit a Notice of Intent to apply by January 13, 2023, at noon to WSBSFP1@edd.ca.gov.
