California Earned Income Tax Credit
Workforce Services Information Notice
WSIN19-30
Issued: January 31, 2020
The California Earned Income Tax Credit (Cal EITC) puts money back into the pockets of California’s working families and individuals. In 2019, the Cal EITC provided almost $400 million to more than 2 million working Californians.
The CalEITC4Me website serves as a go-to hub for information about the Cal EITC. Individuals and families will also find information regarding the Young Child Tax Credit, which is available for families with children under the age of six, and the federal Earned Income Tax Credit. Additionally, the website includes the following user-friendly tools:
- The CalEITC4MeCalculator – Allows individuals to determine their eligibility for the state and federal EITC, including their potential refund, in a few easy steps.
- The Free Tax Prep Finder – Connects families or individuals who made $56,000 or less to free tax preparation services.
America’s Job Center of CaliforniaSM staff are encouraged to disseminate the Cal EITC flyer to promote the tax credit. Additional informational resource materials are available for download on the CalEITC4Me website.
