Get Payment Status
Find out how to manage and monitor payment activity on your unemployment claim.
Log In to UI Online
Once you are logged in, select Payment Activity to see all payments made on your claim.
Your last payment issued and claim balance appear at the bottom of the homepage in the Claim Summary section. To view other payments made, select View Payment Activity to see:
- Issue Date
- Amount Paid
- Payment Status
To view how your payment was calculated, select Details for the week you want to view.
You can select Claim History to review your certifications by week. You can also view details on certifications that were submitted, but not paid because of excessive earnings, a disqualification, or another eligibility issue.

Call Us
Call 1-866-333-4606 and select Menu Option 1 to get information on your most recent payment. Payment information is updated daily at 6 a.m. (Pacific time).
If you submit your certification by phone, your payment will generally be deposited on to your EDD Debit CardSM within 24 hours.
Note: If you submitted your certification by mail and/or requested your benefit payments by check, allow 10 days for processing.
If it has been more than 10 days since you submitted your certifications, Contact UI.
Status | Status Explanation |
---|---|
Appeal | An appeal was filed on this claim. While the appeal is pending, you must continue to certify for benefits. If you are found eligible, you will receive any unpaid benefits for this week. |
Cancelled | We cancelled the payment for this week. Payments may be cancelled to avoid improper payments. |
Credit Applied to Overpayment | Your entire benefit payment for this week was applied to an overpayment. Refer to the Notice of Overpayment (DE 1444CT) or Notice of Denial of Benefits and Overpayment (DE 1480Z) that was mailed to you. |
Disqualification | This week was not eligible for payment because of a disqualification. Refer to the Notice of Determination (DE 1080CZ) that was mailed to you. |
Duplicate | You submitted more than one certification for this week. Only the first certification will be processed for payment, and any others will show a Duplicate status. |
Excessive Earnings | Your earnings were too high this week to qualify for payment. The earnings you reported, when reduced by $25 or 25%, were more than your weekly benefit amount. |
False Statement Penalty Week | This week was not paid and your certification was credited to your false statement penalty. Refer to the Notice of Determination (DE 1080CZ) that was mailed to you. To serve your penalty weeks, you must continue to certify and maintain your eligibility to receive benefits. |
Fully Employed | You reported that you worked full time this week. You will not be paid for weeks you worked full time. You can stop certifying for benefits if you no longer need them. If you were fully employed for two consecutive weeks, you will have to reopen your claim to request additional unemployment benefits. |
Not Paid | You were not paid for this week because of the status of your unemployment claim. Make sure you have a remaining claim balance and that the benefit year end date has not passed. If your claim is still active, wait two weeks and recheck the certification status in your Claim Summary for updates. You must continue to certify for benefits if your claim has a remaining balance and the benefit year end date has not passed. If the status doesn’t change after two weeks, call 1-800-300-5616. |
Overpayment | You were paid unemployment benefits this week that you were not eligible to receive. Refer to the Notice of Overpayment (DE 1444CT) or Notice of Denial of Benefits and Overpayment (DE 1480Z) that was mailed to you. |
Overpayment Cancelled | We cancelled the overpayment amount for this week’s certification. You must continue to certify to receive any benefits you may be eligible for. |
Overpayment Waived | We determined that you meet specific criteria to waive the overpayment amount for this week. You are not required to repay your benefit amount for this week. |
Paid | Your payment has been issued for this week. This status includes conditional payments. |
Paid/Credit Applied to Overpayment | Part of your benefit payment for this week was applied to an overpayment. Refer to the Notice of Overpayment (DE 1444CT) or Notice of Denial of Benefits and Overpayment (DE 1480Z) that was mailed to you. For questions about your overpayment, call 1-800-676-5737 or you can make a payment online. |
Pending | This week’s certification is pending until an issue with your claim has been resolved. If your payment remains pending for more than two weeks, we may process a conditional payment as we continue reviewing the issue. Visit conditional payments to find out if you are eligible for conditional payments. |
Reissued | The certification form for this week has been reissued to you because it was either incomplete, contained errors, or was submitted too soon. You must resubmit your certification for this week and correct any issues. |
Successive Disqualification – False Statement | This week’s payment was credited to your successive disqualification – false statement penalty. Refer to the Notice of Determination (DE 1080CZ) that was mailed to you. To serve your penalty weeks, you must continue to certify and maintain your eligibility to receive benefits. |
Waiting Period Served | This certification week counts as the unpaid, seven-day waiting period required by California law for all new unemployment claims. You must continue to certify to receive any benefits you may be eligible for. |
