Honramos a los increíbles padres y figuras paternas que han tenido un impacto en nuestras vidas. Hay distintos tipos de padres. Algunos son biológicos, algunos son familiares cercanos, y otros son amigos y modelos a seguir.
Este año marca un acontecimiento importante para las familias de California: 20 años apoyando a los padres con el programa de Permiso Familiar Pagado (PFL). PFL les ha dado a los padres la posibilidad de tomarse tiempo libre en el trabajo para vincularse con un nuevo hijo, cuidar a un familiar gravemente enfermo o apoyar el despliegue militar de un miembro de la familia al extranjero. Este vigésimo aniversario celebra a todos los padres que han recibido ayuda de este programa, garantizando que cuenten con el apoyo necesario en los momentos más importantes de la vida.
Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for PFL benefit payments, you must have:
- Welcomed a new child into the family in the past 12 months through birth.
- Paid into State Disability Insurance (noted as "CASDI" on most paystubs) in the past 5 to 18 months.
- Not taken the maximum eight weeks of PFL in the past 12 months.

Citizenship and immigration status do not affect eligibility.
San Francisco workers: Your employer may have to provide supplemental compensation to you if you’re receiving PFL bonding benefit payments. For more information, review the Paid Parental Leave Ordinance.
