20 años apoyando a las madres de California

Mothers come in many forms. Some gave birth to us. Some adopted us. Some found us in a time of need and invited us into their lives when we needed it the most. We honor all mothers who create strong futures and remind them that Paid Family Leave (PFL) continues to support them and their families.

We are celebrating a remarkable milestone of 20 years of supporting mothers with the program. For over two decades, PFL has been a resource for mothers ensuring they have the support they need during the moments that matter most. It has been there and will continue to be there for years to come.

Paid Family Leave for Mothers

If you’re pregnant or a mom who recently gave birth, start here to learn about PFL. If you’re pregnant, you can receive Disability Insurance (DI) before your due date and after to recover from childbirth. Visit Types of Claims – Pregnancy to learn more. New moms with an active DI-pregnancy claim will automatically be sent a Claim for Paid Family Leave (PFL) Benefits – New Mother (DE 2501FP) after their final DI payment is issued to transition to PFL to bond with their baby.

If you’re a foster care or adoptive mom, visit PFL for Adoptive or Foster Parents.
