Customer Survey: State Disability Insurance
State Disability Insurance (SDI) is funded entirely by workers and most California workers pay into it, meaning they are most likely eligible for benefits. The SDI program has two separate benefits:
- Disability Insurance (DI) provides short-term benefit payments to workers who have lost wages due to pregnancy or a non-work-related illness or injury.
- Paid Family Leave (PFL) provides benefit payments to individuals who need time off from work to care for a seriously ill family member and to new parents who need time to bond with a new child.
This survey asked respondents to report their level of satisfaction with EDD services when receiving DI and/or PFL benefits. Percentages are rounded to the nearest whole number.
