How to Subscribe to SIDES E-Response

In order to subscribe to SIDES E-Response, you must be enrolled in Employers Services Online and use e-Services for Business. The steps below provide a quick overview for subscribing to SIDES E-Response. For complete instructions on how to subscribe to SIDES E-Response, view the Employment Development Department’s (EDD) SIDES E-Response Users Guide.

Step 1: Enroll in Employer Services Online

Before you can use SIDES E-Response, you must be enrolled in Employer Services Online. To enroll, you will need your first and last name, the last 4 digits of your Social Security number, an email address, and a phone number. For more information, visit the Employer Services Online Enrollment page.

If you are already enrolled, skip to step 2.

Step 2: Log into e-Services for Business

Next, you must log into e-Services for Business with your Employer Services Online username and password and establish your relationship to an employer payroll tax account number. For more information, visit e-Services for Business.

Note: After logging into e-Services for Business the first time, you must wait 24 hours before subscribing to SIDES E-Response.

If you currently use e-Services for Business, skip to step 3.

Step 3: Subscribe to SIDES E-Response

Log into SIDES E-Response with your Employer Services Online username and password.

If you have never subscribed to SIDES E-Response, you will be directed to the Subscription page.

  1. Review your information on the page.
  2. Read the terms and conditions.
  3. Agree to the terms and conditions.
  4. Select “Subscribe” for a single business or “Subscribe All” for multiple businesses.

If you have previously subscribed to SIDES E-Response, you will be directed to the SIDES E-Response home page.

  1. Select the “SIDES Subscription” link in the notifications section.
  2. Review your information on the page.
  3. Read the terms and conditions.
  4. Agree to the terms and conditions.
  5. Select “Subscribe” for a single business or “Subscribe All” for multiple businesses.
