Money Network Prepaid Debit Card FAQs

Want more information on your debit card? Review the following questions and use these resources to learn more:

New: Money Network Card

Money Network has the advanced resources and secure systems needed to better support you. With Money Network, you'll get direct deposit features, enhanced customer support, and a 24/7 help center with staff who speak multiple languages.

As of February 15, benefit payments will be issued to your Money Network Card. After you receive it in the mail, activate following the directions in your welcome packet to use it immediately.

You can get money from ATMs, banks, and as cash back during purchases.

  • ATMs: Use Find ATMs or the Money Network App to find ATMs with no fees. Other ATMs may charge fees.
  • Banks or Credit Unions: Visit any bank or credit union branch that accepts Mastercard or withdraw cash for a fee. Make sure you have ID and know your balance.
  • Cash Back: Ask for cash back when you use your PIN to make a debit card purchase at participating locations, like grocery stores.

You can check it online, with the Money Network AppSM, and by calling Money Network at 1-800-684-7051.

If you lose your Money Network Card, you can lock it to prevent theft while you look for it. To lock it, login or use the Money Network App.

If it’s lost or stolen, call Money Network immediately at 1-800-684-7051 (TTY: 1-800-1684-7053) to deactivate the card and send a replacement. Fees may apply (PDF), and allow 7-10 business days to receive it.

  • Don’t share your PIN or Money Network password.
  • Only share your Money Network Card number, expiration date, and CVV for purchases.
  • Report your lost or stolen card immediately.
  • And use the Money Network App to immediately to lock your card if you have lost it, set up spending alerts, and review your balance and transactions regularly.

Bank of America

Generally, the EDD will only have access to information related to the amount of benefits deposited to your debit card and the date those deposits are made. Learn about how Bank of America shares card account information.  

No. The debit card is not associated with a credit line and will not show up on your credit report. Your debit card allows you to access your benefit payment funds from your debit card account.

If you still have money on your Bank of America card from before January 15, 2024, you can use that money until April 15.

Date Actions You Can Take
March 31, 2024 Last day to request and be issued a replacement card, if your card is lost, stolen, expired, or scheduled to expire before March 31.
April 15, 2024 Last day to activate and use your card as you normally do to make payments, cash withdrawals, and purchases.
April 30, 2024 Last day to choose one of the options below for any money left on your card:
  • Transfer any remaining money to a checking or savings account of your choice.
  • Request a check from Bank of America.
  • Request an emergency cash transfer through Western Union.

Note: After April 30, you'll need to contact Bank of America at 1-866-692-9374 to request a check.

March 31, 2024 is the last day to request and be issued a replacement card, if your card is lost, stolen, expired, or scheduled to expire before March 31. If your Bank of America card is lost, stolen, or damaged, it can be replaced at no cost to you.

If your card has been lost or stolen, you must contact Bank of America at 1-866-692-9374 (TTY: 1-866-656-5913).

If your card is damaged, you can order a replacement card online by visiting the Bank of America debit card website.

If your card has expired, and you did not have any activity on the card within the last 90 days, or if you have a balance of less than $20, contact Bank of America debit card customer service.
